Pizza delivery driver was bashed with metal bar in Bulwell - court hears
A THUG hit a pizza delivery man on the head with a metal bar when he arrived with his order, a court heard.
Edward Coleman paid the driver £10 when he delivered the pizza to his girlfriend's house in Bulwell.

But then his balaclava-clad accomplice, Aiden Leonardi, came up behind the man and attacked him.
The pair then chased him to his car and he drove off.
Earlier the same night the duo stole a £125 computer monitor from a different pizza outlet in Bulwell and threw leaflets at a worker before ordering the pizza delivery, Nottingham Crown Court was told.
Both admitted theft and assault causing actual bodily harm. Each was ordered to pay the driver £250 compensation. The driver was cut on the side of his head.
"Goodness me, I don't know what got into you two," said Judge Dudley Bennett.
"You, Leonardi, haven't been in trouble before and you, Coleman, only once. What on earth drove you to this behaviour I can't think...only drink muddling your thinking."
Roger Wilson, for 23-year-old Coleman, said his client was drunk.
"He said he was stupid and joined in by chasing the pizza delivery man away."
Since being in custody Coleman has gained qualifications in maths, English and information technology design.
Leonardi, 21, of Clayfield Close, Crabtree Farm Estate, Bulwell, had no previous convictions and was remorseful and ashamed about the incident, in February.
"He has been a hard-working individual all his life," said Adrian Langdale, in mitigation.
The judge said he did not see why the man who was hit should not be compensated.
Both were given nine-month jail sentences, suspended for two years, and curfews.
Coleman, of Leeming Lane South, Mansfield Woodhouse, will be supervised by the probation service for 18 months and must complete an alcohol treatment order.

“It isn't just Bulwell; look at every district in the north of the city - Bells Lane, Aspley, Broxtowe, Bestwood, Bilborough. The scum have taken over with the help of middle class liberals who think they're doing the working class a favour by going soft on anti-social behaviour and crime. I only stay in Nottingham now because this is where my job is but if I'm made redundant, I'm off and I'm not coming back. The scum are welcome to the city, I'll get a new job elsewhere.”

“Bulwell is a dreadful area, full of cime and violence. Needs to be cleared of the underclass rabble who infest it.
As for saying that these thugs acquire "qualifcations" in prison, an orang utan could do the same - you need just enough brainpower to rise above the primordial slime to get these worthless bits of paper.”

“The thugs who have commited the crime and one the thugs lives, in same area of the crime commited and if he lives in a council property, Nottingham city homes should serve a eviction, too many cases of anti social behaviour and criminal behaviour on Nottingham's council estates, which creating no go area's, Bulwell is getting bad, due a increase of social unclass causing crime, look last year, the crabtree farm estate had riots due gangs torching bins and running riot, throwing objects at the police, I myself want to leave Bulwell,as it is becoming ghetto, and no law and order due some residents dont have any respect whatsoever ,people these days dont get involved, as disfunctional families are allowed terrioze locals neighbourhoods , take over the place. The police and council needs take action against problem families, as too many live in Bulwell”

“This is disgusting, what they have done deserves more than just a suspended sentance.
Being drunk is not a reason to mindlessly attack an innocent person. Clearly this was not a spur of the moment thing, this was though out and planned, they had balaclavas to ensure that they couldn't be identified.
Just because Edward has gained basic qualifactions does not mean that he has changed, I have no doubt that these two will offend again in the next 2 years and when they do they deserve to serve any time that they are given.
Both Edward and Aiden should be more than ashamed with what they have done.
The Judge should also look at himself as I am unble to understand his ruling on this. If he beleives that a suspended sentance and paying £250 compensation is sufficient then he needs to have a reality check and possibly find a different job.”

“It would seem that Coleman is thriving in custody. Perhaps a few more years inside and he will be a fully qualified Sociologist. We are in dire need of more.”

“Its a waste of time getting qualifications lads as with a criminal record, every employer in the country will know what scum you both are.
Imagine Wrapping a metal bar around some guys head who is making an honest living, and the Judge lets them away without serving time!
Then they wonder why we have vigilantes out there??
Shame on you judge, you are as guilty of these 2 thugs of making our streets as dangerous as they are.”
