Panthers all set for table-topping double-header
GARY Moran believes Nottingham Panthers' "passionate" fans can help to make this unique weekend one to remember.
Panthers face Elite League leaders Belfast Giants on Saturday (7pm) and Sunday (4pm) at the National Ice Centre in their first home double-header against the same team.
Lying in second place, seven points adrift of the Giants but with a game in hand, nothing less than victory in both games will suffice as Panthers chase a first Elite League title.
And general manager Moran said: "I can't wait.
"There is a great rivalry between us and Belfast – nothing bitter but respect throughout both clubs, from the management to the players and the supporters, too.
"And I know our fans will play their part in making it a great weekend.
"There is a real passion for ice hockey here in Nottingham.
"I cannot see these games between the top two teams in the league not being a good advertisement for the sport.
"It will be like an intense mini-play-off series, an absolute spectacle. And no one can predict how they will go.
"Obviously, whatever happens on Saturday will have an effect on how the teams play the night next.
"Sunday, could in fact be the biggest game of the two.
"But we will be looking at nothing less than four points and, as one of our players said the other day, 'It's time to show this league what we're all about'.
"Amen to that."

So be sure you say "HI".Brock,Jordy & team-mates will do the rest on the ice.My thoughts are with all of you too! "
If a team believes they deserve SUCCESS,they've got a shot at it.There's only one way, I know to feel you deserve SUCCESS, and that is"IF YOU WORK VERY HARD ON EVERY SHIFT! COACH CORY will have everyone, BATTLE READY! The fans will do the rest-RIGHT. One for the winker!”
