FORMER professional cricketer Neil Edwards has had a complete career change and joined Savills Nottingham's auction team.

He joins the international property firm after 11 years as a professional cricketer.

He has played for Somerset, where he opened the batting with Marcus Trescothick, and more recently for Notts. The left-hander spent last season playing for Plumtree in the Notts Premier League.

Bob Crocker, director and auction co-ordinator at Savills, said: "Cricketers have an adaptable nature and are well-known for successful career changes. From Imran Khan's transition to politician, to Darren Gough and Michael Vaughan excelling at ballroom dancing, we expect Neil's career change to the auction rooms of Nottingham to be equally seamless.
