Olympic medallists to appear at sports awards
OLYMPIC medallists from across the county are due to attend the Nottinghamshire Sports Awards tonight.
The annual awards, run by Notts County Council, are an opportunity to highlight the key achievements of sportsmen and women, teams, clubs, coaches and volunteers.

Most of the county's victorious Team GB medallists from London 2012 are set to attend
Nominees include Charlotte Henshaw, Rebecca Adlington, Sam Oldham, Ollie Hynd and Richard Whitehead, and Nottingham's boxing star Carl Froch.

Clubs up for awards include Beeston Hockey Club, Mansfield Rugby Club (men's first team) and Nottingham Panthers ice hockey.
Forty-five torchbearers and Games Makers have also been invited, to recognise their contributions to London 2012.
This year's invitation-only event is set to take place at the East Midlands Conference Centre at 6.15pm.
Mark Shardlow and Andrew James, from the BBC, will be compering.
