Notts star midfielder hands in transfer request
NOTTS County's Ben Davies has handed in a formal transfer request, and the Magpies' manager Paul Ince has revealed the midfielder is close to leaving Meadow Lane to join Derby County.
The Magpies have already turned down a bid from the Championship side, believed to be £250,000.

But the Rams have come back with an improved offer and now the 29-year-old looks to be on his way to Pride Park.
Meanwhile, fellow League One side Sheffield Wednesday are interested in Lee Hughes and his Magpies strike partner Craig Westcarr.
Davies was at Meadow Lane today with his agent.
"The deal for Ben is close to going through," said Ince. "I have said to him I want him to stay here and help take the club forward but he's put in a transfer request.
"It's sad he's put that in but it's important our fans know that. When player's do that what can you do?
"I can understand where Ben is coming from. He's 29 and he's got a great opportunity to go and play in the Championship.
"He's been a fantastic player for Notts."
The Magpies' League One rivals Sheffield Wednesday are reported to be interested in both Hughes and Westcarr, and Ince added: "I don't think it has gone as far as the Derby deal for Ben Davies, but there must be something there.
"I don't want to lose people like Lee Hughes and Westcarr and Davies, they are three of our major players."

“Its a shame that Davies has gone, but heyho players come and go. No big deal. I'm sure Mr Ince will sign some quality players with this money, and carry up our charge through the leagues.
Just so glad that we don't have a transfer aquisition panel in place!!
Onwards and upwards!
YOU PIES!!”

“This club has been starved of success for years & then just when it all seems to be turning good again we get players handing in transfer requests & other clubs trying to buy our best players. We have just added some good players to the squad and they should complement the ones that we have already got not replace them. Come on Ray show some guts & turn down these requests and offers, at least until we know whether we are going to get into the playoffs or not. I know that the club needs the cash but the supporters want the club to play in the Championship & we will never have a chance of that by selling our best players to our rivals. Keep this team together & reap the rewards later rather than sooner.”

“Note to the writer:
An apostrophe is used to indicate possession. "When player's do that [¿]" doesn't make any sense.
Also, even though it's a quote, how about some punctuation, so it doesn't seem like some long, monotonous sentence. Maybe something like:
"It's sad he's put that in; but it's important our fans know that. When players do that, what can you do?"
