SHOOTING of a film in Notts starring Emily Watson has now been completed.

Production of Oranges and Sunshine has now been moved to South Australia and will finish on January 31.

It is the feature-film debut of director Jim Loach and is based on the book Empty Cradles by Margaret Humphreys, the former Notts social worker who revealed the scandalous treatment of thousands of children sent to Australia without their parents' knowledge.

Watson plays her in the film, which also stars David Wenham, Hugo Weaving and Molly Windsor.

Sixteen Midlands, which is an arm of director Ken Loach's Sixteen Films, is a co-producer of the UK/Australia film.
