Two Notts police staff arrested after Unison complaint
TWO Notts police staff have been arrested following a complaint about misappropriation of union funds.
A third person was also arrested by Notts police officers responding to the same complaint, which came from the East Midlands branch of Unison.
-

The complaint was made between Christmas and New Year. All three were arrested on Tuesday and have been bailed pending further inquiries.
Details of the complaint, the locations of the arrests and the positions held by the police staff have not been disclosed.
A Notts police spokesman said: "Following a complaint by the regional branch of Unison an investigation was launched by Notts police which resulted in three people being arrested on the morning of Tuesday, February 24.
"Two of those people were Notts police staff who have been suspended. All three have been released on police bail."
No-one from the East Midlands branch of Unison, based in Vivian Avenue, Nottingham, was available for comment.

“It amazes me to read people's thoughts and issues that they believe they understand, when clearly they don't.
Bob was making a valid point which was to clarify for Calm Down that those involved were civilian and not Police. And YES, the difference does matter.
As for wondering why it has taken so long to investigate, that should be glaringly obvious. Any investigation would take time, but they would be looking at facts and figures, finances, all of which needs rooting through properly! Either way, the police will never win with those that only seek to complain, moan and get one back at the cops! Let them get on with the job.”

“why,if the complaint were recieved between xmas and new year, does it then take them virtually 2 months to sus out criminals working within their own headquarters building, where the office is based?....this does not in my opinion show much hope for the community crime.....that they have to get up off their backside and go out to solve....or try to !”

“What is scarey about this incident, is that because they are Police Staff, the investigation will be run internally by the Police Professional Standards Unit. Bearing in mind the complaint was made almost two months ago, the PSU will have gone through everything with a fine tooth comb, at considerable cost to the tax payer. Trust me there will have been more time and effort (plus money) gone into this 'internal' investigation than the majority of 'complainants' made by Joe Public. Apart, the investigators will be at least of the rank of Detective Inspector. It's common knowledge that if Joe public reports a crime, he''l be lucky to get a CSO, and will just end up with a crime number. The Police in general are far too concerned about keeping a squeaky clean image, and rooting out corruption. (as if it's wide speard and commonplace). The PSU is the most over staffed, over rated, and over funded Department within the Notts Police. Tax Payers money would be better spent on investigating the Publics complaints. Ask any front line police officer and he will tell you the same.”

“Bob what is the difference if they are police staff or police officers it¿s still the police. Do you feel Police Officers are a separate entity from the police service in general and have to be protected or something. I don¿t think calm down is having a go at your heroes he¿s just making a point regarding the police in general.”

“"Calm down".....
The fact that these allegations are regarding union funds from Unison means that the 3 people arrested are not Police officers but civilian staff.
Try your best to understand the story before commenting...eh?”
