NOTTS police have fewer local bobbies than the national average.

Her Majesty's Inspectorate of Constabulary's "value-for-money profiles" for each of the 43 forces in England and Wales show that Notts police have 0.23 community support officers per 1,000 residents, compared to 0.26 nationally. It also has 1.08 community police officers per 1,000 residents compared to 1.09 nationally.

But Notts has 0.3 control room staff per 1,000 residents, compared to 0.25 nationally.

“I would rather have 0% Community Support Officers because they are a total waste of money and have them replaced with properly warranted Constables. What we need are professionally trained Police Officers capable of taking on the criminal fraternity in Nottinghamshire, not a bunch of part-trained amateurs.”
