NOTTS have set their sights on winning more high-profile fixtures in the future – with the 2019 Ashes series and World Cup of the same year already in their sights.

The club were celebrating in September when they won the rights to hosts Ashes matches in 2013 and 2015.

But the green and golds know they can ill-afford to get complacent and must continue developing their facilities and spectator experience.

"We have already got an eye on the 2019 Ashes series and also the World Cup in the same year," said Brewer.

"But venues such as Edgbaston and Cardiff will be coming back strongly in the next bidding round and it is important we stay ahead of the game.

"We were delighted to win the Ashes for 2013 and 2015, but now there is a recognition that we have to deliver.

"There is a real opportunity for us now with the big games we have coming here and we have to try to make the most of them."

Brewer believes Notts have prospered from identifying Trent Bridge's strengths and seeking to improve them.

He said: "The staging agreement (guaranteeing international matches) expired last year and you look back three or four years ago and we were really concerned because we don't have the biggest ground.

"That's where we had to work out what would give us a competitive edge. We wanted ours to be our consumer experience and our community management. Those are areas we really worked on.

"But it's one thing getting there and even harder to stay there."

Brewer is quick to admit just how vital to the health of Notts as a club that the ECB continue to bring games to Nottingham.

"The international cricket is key," he said. "There is some more work to do but it's an opportunity with the revenue streams that opened up by welcoming Australia twice and India over the next three years.

"There is potential in terms of sponsorship, hospitality and developing partnerships.

"During that period we will be the most high-profile Test ground outside London. It's important economically to the city and the county.

"There is something very special about Lord's but the same goes for Trent Bridge as well."
