A NOTTS man has won more than half-a-million Euros in a poker contest.

Will Fry beat international competition in the PokersStars European Tour Budapest tournament.

The 28-year-old took the top prize, worth more than £460,000, after defeating 531 players.

A poker player since he was six, he also won a seat the grand final in Monte Carlo.

He plays, he says, to pay his mortgage, help out family and friends and give money to charity. The contest was his first major live poker event.
