Notts to honour Jimmy Sirrel in new hall of fame
NOTTS County's legendary manager Jimmy Sirrel (pictured) will be the first inductee into a new hall of fame at Meadow Lane at a special 150th birthday bash.
Sirrel famously led the Magpies from the old Division Four into the top-flight of English football and the club will honour his achievements in the 1862 Suite at Meadow Lane tonight.
"As part of our 150th anniversary celebrations, we had always been keen to introduce a legacy that would help us continue to celebrate our rich history for years to come," the club said. "The hall of fame is seen as the ideal way to acknowledge those who have helped shape that illustrious history and there was nobody more fitting to be the first inductee than Jimmy Sirrel."
Tickets, costing £25, can still be bought from the club's commercial team on 0115 9557241 and include a carvery meal.
