COSTUMES, props and behind-the-scenes material from the new Robin Hood film will be on display in Notts.

Nottingham Castle and the Sherwood Forest Visitor Centre will host exhibitions from Tuesday to celebrate the release of the epic staring Russell Crowe as the legendary outlaw.

National tourism agency VisitBritain and Universal Pictures, along with other tourism agencies and councils, are teaming up to maximise exposure for the film, Nottingham, Sherwood Forest and the great British filming locations.

Robin Hood opens nationwide from May 14.

Mike Baulcombe, tourism leader at Experience Nottinghamshire, said: "The release of Ridley Scott's film is a great opportunity for us. The global media attention we're already getting speaks for itself."

There are also plans for a Robin Hood Month in May to celebrate the film's release .
