Notts can become established Championship club once again, says Chilvers
LIAM Chilvers believes Notts County can once again become an established Championship club.
It is 15 years since the Magpies played in the second tier of English Football.

But Chilvers is convinced they can return to that level within the next two years, having already risen into League One by winning the League Two title last season.
Chilvers was attracted to Meadow Lane on a two-year deal by the quality of the Magpies' squad, which he believes can challenge for promotion this season, and the size of the club.
He said: "I think in terms of the stadium and fans' support, it's a club that can be in the Championship, and stay there.
"It's a club that is in a position to move forward."
Chilvers has played with two of his Magpies' team-mates before – Stephen Hunt at Colchester United, where he won promotion into the Championship in 2006, and Karl Hawley at Preston North End.
He also rose through the youth ranks at Arsenal at a similar time to Notts' new midfielder John Spicer.
"We used to train together when we were both at Arsenal," said Chilvers.
"When Notts got in touch with me I looked and saw John had come here.
"They have brought in players who have played in the Championship before and want to get back there."

“Notts will become a Championship club once again, and yes; maybe even next season.
It does seem very odd that Forest have made so few signings this summer.
There have been whispers and rumours of trouble at the CG...but then they are just rumours...aren't they?”

“Forest fans are so stupid. they think their so big because they were in Europe 20 years ago. they think Notts should be in the conference... get a grip.
Forest are in trouble this season, its all gone pear shaped over there so their turning on us!
Notts County are the pride of Nottingham!”

“David Beckham - LA Galaxy - FREE
Michael Ballack - Chelsea - FREE
Sol Campbell - Tottenham/Arsenal/Portsmouth/Notts County/Arsenal/Newcastle United - ALL FREE
Jonathan Woodgate - Newcastle United - FREE
Carlo Cudicini - Milan/Prato/Lazio/Castel Di Sangro/Chelsea/Tottenham - ALL FREE
Michael Owen - Man Utd - FREE
Edwin Van Der Sar - Juventus/Man Utd - FREE
Your points are all flawed, these are all world class players who have played at the highest level of both international and domestic football. Just because your players are free doesn't mean there bad players just means that you know how to manage your money.
Forest have always had to spend money (even when there were better players on a free) since they paid the first £1m transfer fee.
Come back when you can prove my points wrong Mandy74 and as an example to show you the opposite end of the scale
Adeola Akinbiyi - C. Palace £2.2m, Leicester £5m.”

“I see County have bailed out the Rugby club, Forest fans were so quick to malign County for trying to get rid of them last year, I wonder how many are going to say well done?
Talking of the community, I see County have an open day and was wondering if Forest have now scrapped theirs?
One good season and the fans and community are all forgotten.”

“and the size of the club ? He said: "I think in terms of the stadium and fans' support, it's a club that can be in the Championship. Is he having a laugh or what. Conference yes, Championship definately not. Maybe in 10 years time.”

“Tony,arnold
By the way you dont know your team as much as you say. Your highest ever average for a season post war is......1949/50..35,176
Your highest average attendance since 1990 is....1991/92 ..11,133
So make sure you research your facts before quoting them...”
