Cricket: Three Notts players will be out to help England bounce back from their 3-0 Test whitewash by Pakistan in the forthcoming one-day internationals.

As expected, Stuart Broad, Graeme Swann and Samit Patel have all been given the nod by the England selectors for the four-match series, which starts next Monday and finishes on February 21.

They will be joined by another team-mate, Alex Hales, for the T20 matches that follow between February 23 and 27.

Broad will captain the T20 team, a job he was handed last May but had to temporarily pass on to Swann in the autumn because of injury.

It will provide him with a valuable insight ahead of the side's attempts to defend their World T20 crown in Sri Lanka in September.

Uncapped players batsman-keeper Jos Buttler and spinner Danny Briggs have been named in the one-day squad, while experienced batsman Ian Bell has been left out.

All matches will be played in Abu Dhabi and Dubai.
