Notts chairman faces vote of no confidence
AN emergency meeting of the Notts County Supporters Trust board has been scheduled for Thursday evening – when a vote of no confidence in club chairman John Armstrong-Holmes will be proposed.
It is understood that a further group of Trust members could also stage their own vote of no confidence in the Magpies chairman in the near future.
The seven members of the Trust board, who have demanded to know why they had allegedly been refused access to key financial information, have arranged a meeting for Thursday evening, at which they will propose a vote of no confidence in Armstrong-Holmes and the other Trust representative on the club board, Eric Kerry.
But, regardless of the outcome of that vote among the 15 Trust board members, a separate group of fans – led by several prominent members of the Trust – have now also decided to take action.
They require signatures from ten per cent of Trust members – roughly 120 people – to force an emergency meeting of their own, at which a further vote of no confidence would be proposed.
At least 28-days' notice would have to be given for the meeting to take place but a majority vote there would also be sufficient to force the chairman out of Meadow Lane.
Armstrong-Holmes has come under-fire from Trust members for allegedly failing to divulge financial information regarding the running of the club and for his handling of a dispute with the City Council over a number of safety issues surrounding the Kop Stand, which resulted in half the stand being closed.
Armstrong-Holmes said: "I feel it would be entirely inappropriate to make any comment at this moment."

“Notts need investment, that is a fact. Football clubs are hardy enough to run at the best of times and without significant financial backing it is nearly impossible. Let's not remember why the last Chair left, because the Trust were clearly blocking Pearson's attempts to invest. Nothing has changed, the Trust still want to hang on to power, and whoever is leading the group, whether it be JAH or someone new, the clinging on to power will still be there.
This is an ongoing issues that will not go away until an actual Business man invests and Chairs. Just because the members of the Trust buy the tickets that does not mean they know how to run the club. God love the Trust for all they do but you need commercial expertise.
Finding an investor though is another job entirely.”

“We need to get JAH out, he is killing the club, the trust aren't. The trust must do their best to for the club, which they are, so they cannot be denied access to key information; the trust mainly owns the club. The trust are not sulking, that is absolute rubbish, they are doing a brilliant job! JAH OUT!!”

“It is the Trust board members who should resign.JAH is the only chairman since Pavis to have done anything positive. All of the things that everyone has said we needed,JAH has delivered - return of youth policy, new manager, move to the Kop and now trying to get some real investment. Just because the Trust are starting to feel "left out" they appear to be sulking - what a disgrace.I have in the past supported the Trust But not now - Trust out !!”

“I don't think it needed to go this far, now that the trust have publically stated that JAH has withheld information he had enough pressure to divulge.
I don't think this mauling of him is the right thing for the club and it certainly will turn eyes away from what has been improved results of late.
I am a member of the Trust and I am frankly ashamed that it has allowed to have gone this far.
I for one will not sign as there are more things to worry about at the moment, including the reason for all this in first place.”
