NOTTS and Derbyshire will collaborate when they go to MIPIM, the international property event in Cannes next week.

The two cities and counties plan to come together in a strategic partnership to highlight the benefits of doing business with the two counties.

Team Nottingham and Marketing Derby will highlight the benefits of D2N2 Local Enterprise Partnership for Derbyshire and Notts – as well as the Nottingham Enterprise Zone.

Peter Richardson, LEP chair, said: "MIPIM is a great place to meet firms who can boost their growth by investing in our area.

"By working together as a partnership we can showcase the complementary strengths of Derby, Derbyshire, Nottingham and Nottinghamshire that, together, make a compelling opportunity for investment and growth."

LEP board members Peter Gadsby, the property developer, and Councillor Jon Collins, leader of Nottingham City Council, will be attending MIPIM to support the partnership.

Mr Collins said: "Nottingham and Derby have each had a strong presence at MIPIM in recent years and by combining our efforts this year, we can present more effectively the regional opportunities that exist for inward investment and creating new jobs. The LEP's support strengthens our profile and is clear evidence of real partnership working."

Mr Collins will be taking part in this year's Cycle to Cannes (C2C) challenge to coincide with Team Nottingham attending MIPIM.

He will set off from London today, joining 80 other riders covering the 1,500km distance over six days to raise money for charity. They aim to cross the finishing line at around 3pm outside the Palais de Festivals, Cannes, on Tuesday.

Thirteen powerful partner organisations from across the Notts property sector will be leading Team Nottingham at MIPIM, which attracts thousands of investors and developers from across the globe.

Alliance Boots is also boosting the Team Nottingham line-up. Mark Chivers, director of the Enterprise Zone at Alliance Boots, will be talking to MIPIM about the benefits of Nottingham and Derby to investors.

The line-up includes Alliance Boots, UK Regeneration, Innes England, Gleeds, Geldards, Morgan Tucker, Cartwright Communications, architects Couch Perry & Wilkes, CPMG Architects, Miller Birch, Invest in Nottingham and Nottingham Regeneration.

Director of Innes England, Tim Garratt, who helps to lead Team Nottingham, said: "This is the strongest team we have had since the private sector began representing the city at MIPIM.

"For the third year running, we have had a number of private firms across Nottingham and the county who are keen to maintain the city's prominence at MIPIM.

"Over the past few years, Notts has succeeded in establishing a recognisable presence there – and it is vital we keep this momentum going.

"We are delighted to see three new members for 2013 – Alliance Boots, whose Nottingham site is the home of Boots UK – and UK Regeneration, which is developing a pilot 'village' scheme in the city.

"That Notts is partnering Derby and Derbyshire this year with the LEP and the attendance of Peter Richardson at Cannes strengthens our efforts and shows a united, regional approach to our efforts.

"We have opportunities to market, requirements to compete for and we wanted to make sure that the Team Nottingham brand was out there and visible at the biggest event on Europe's property and investment calendar."
