NOTTS County have signed young Manchester United striker John Cofie.

The 20-year-old Ghanaian has signed a one-month loan deal at Meadow Lane and is set to make his debut against Crewe Alexandra in League One tomorrow.

He has been at Old Trafford since 2011 and has been on loan at Royal Antwerp and Sheffield United.

He spent five months on loan with the Blades this season, scoring twice in 18 games.

"I've come here to play as many games as I can and help the team go places," he said.

"We're five points off the play-offs so hopefully we can get a promotion."

Having landed Cofie, the Magpies caretaker boss Chris Kiwomya is now targeting another loan striker.
