Notts County players get youngsters onside in drive for new blood donors
NOTTS County FC is urging young people in the city to become blood donors.
The club's appeal comes after a national campaign to find 100,000 new blood donors in 100 days came to a close at midnight last night.

The push by NHS Blood and Transplant saw the target smashed, with more than 111,000 new blood donors enlisting since the campaign's launch last November.
They included more than 2,200 new donors in Notts in the last two months – with more than 1,300 aged between 17 and 24.

The number of people giving blood in that age range had dropped by more than a third in just two years.
The Magpies are continuing to back the push to find more young donors – despite the end of the national campaign.
Aileen Trew, director at Notts County FC, said: "We hope our involvement has inspired people to become donors. We urge people to give blood, because you never know when you or someone you know may need it."
The club has been promoting blood donation in its matchday programme and on its website.
Holly Mason, lead donor relations manager with NHS Blood and Transplant, said: "We're very grateful to Notts County. We've been pleased with the response to our drive to recruit new donors but still need more to come forward. We'd like to say a big thank you to everyone who has registered."
Hospitals across England need 7,000 units of blood every day and each unit can save the lives of up to three people.
