Notts County: Teenage wonder Fabian Spiess - I hope I proved a point
FABIAN Spiess says: "I'm ready." The 19-year-old rookie goalkeeper looks set to get his big chance at Notts County because No.1 Bartosz Bialkowski suffered a bad head injury in their 2-1 defeat at Leyton Orient in League One.
The Pole was carried off on a stretcher, after a collision with Orient striker Charlie MacDonald early in the first half and was taken to a London hospital in an ambulance.

Notts County's Fabian Spiess
Spiess came on for him and went on to wow the crowd with a string of super saves in only his second game for Notts. He could now make his full debut for the Magpies at Portsmouth tomorrow night.
"I've always felt ready for it, but I haven't had the chance because Bart has come in and done really well for us," said the highly-rated keeper.

"I got that chance and hopefully I've proven something to the manager."
Notts boss Keith Curle raved about the teenager's performance – but Spiess was modest, adding: "I just went out there determined to do my best for the team.
"I wasn't nervous, I was relaxed. You have got to be excited about playing and look forward to chances like these, not daunted because you will crumble.
"You have got to believe in yourself. I just tried to do my job. I work hard every day in training to get better and I feel like I performed well."
Curle said: "The last thing I said to Fabian before he went on was 'make your decision and stick with it' and I thought he did fantastic. If Bart is out then Fabian will step in again – I will have no hesitation."

“It' time NOTTS gave their up and coming STARS a chance to shine. Lets face facts I don't reckon the PIES will get out of league1 this year so lets see more of our young talent given a run in the first team, until the end of the season. You never know they may just unearth a top class talent.”

“At last, a youth player gets a call...Hope Bart is OK as that looked nasty. If the forward was Hughesy would have been a red . Shame to lose the run but perhaps its time to swap it for a home run.....Wishful thinking .....
Whatever, back to the job in hand, two wins and a draw please then a good crowd for the Crewe game .
