Notts get Best and McGoldrick cash
NOTTS County have received the cash they were owed by Southampton from the Football League, chairman John Armstrong-Holmes confirmed this morning.
The Magpies were owed a six-figure sum by the cash-strapped Championship club, following the transfers of Leon Best in 2004 and David McGoldrick a year later.

They were due a six-figure sum at the start of February because of an appearances clause in McGoldrick's contract when he left Meadow Lane for St Mary's.
And they were also waiting for a final five-figure sum from the Saints because of a sell-on clause for Best, who now plays for Coventry City.
The Football League have paid County out of cash they are withholding from Southampton, whose parent company Southampton Leisure Holding are in administration.

Not at all, I admire their cup exploits under Cloughie.
I don't moan about Nott's lack of success, I accept it as a fact of life in the lower divisions with little or no money.
My comments about Forest fans are based on their own remarks on various football forums. Perhaps they are thick too ?

“Typical Forest fan...with incorrect facts....Ahem..."Never have been, never will be a playoff side"...Not correct...We have been a playoff side. I recall when we got promoted, via the playoffs, under warnock...only to beat you scumbags at the lane..with striker wollymore! Ohh charlie palmer! ooh charlie palmer!....So I am sorry "you can talk" we HAVE been a playoff side, but I agree untill we get investment, like forest did, we will always struggle and I fear if something does not happen soon, we could end up doing a "Mansfield"”

The only people who have mentioned our european success is county fans.....bitter, bitter, bitter county fans. Thats the way it always is.....you lot reckoning we spend all our time talking about european cups when actually its you lot that go on about it......it shows how bitter you are. As for "at least we know what we are" - thats a load of rubbish. Every season, you lot kick it off by saying "yhea, playoffs this year" or some such guff, and by the time november rolls around, you are in no doubt whatsoever that you are a bottom league 2 side. Every season. Without fail. And boy do you moan about it then. So dont tell me that you dont have unrealistic expectations because you never have been, nor never will be a playoff side, or anywhere near......not in the state your in......yet the same numpties will go into this season expecting playoffs, and the same numpties will be crying "Charlie out" by november.
