Nottingham zavvi store bought by HMV
Nottingham's zavvi entertainment store on Wheeler Gate has been bought out of administration by HMV.
The zavvi chain collapsed before Christmas after it ran into financial difficulties and a number of store shave since closed.

But administrators Ernst & Young said today that the Nottingham store, which employs 24 people, is one of five stores sold to HMV.
Ernst & Young's Tom Jack, Joint Administrator of zavvi UK, said "Another five stores have been sold to HMV, meaning 111 employees will transfer across to HMV immediately and over the course of the next two weeks these zavvi stores will be rebranded as HMV.

HMV already has stores in Nottingham on Lister Gate and in the Victoria Centre.

“I'd imagine they'll end up closing down the Broadmarsh store as it wouldn't be viable to have two stores so close. The Victoria Centre branch is always packed so I'm sure that will be retained.”
