NOTTINGHAM Rugby will play the Exeter Chiefs at Leicester Tigers' ground Welford Road on Saturday November 7 (4.15pm).

The venue switch comes as a result of Notts County's home FA Cup draw against Bradford City that weekend, which also sees Forest take on Bristol City.

The Tigers have stepped in to help the Green and Whites with the fixture headache.

Director of rugby Glenn Delaney said: "Leicester and Nottingham have enjoyed a friendly rivalry as neighbours over many years and have also forged a very successful relationship.

"We're delighted that Tigers are in a position to allow us to play our next home game at Welford Road, and we are very grateful for that support.

"The enthusiasm for rugby in Leicester is enormous and we hope some of those supporters will come and see what we are all about.

"Welford Road is one of the best, if not the best rugby ground in England and it will be really good to see a good crowd down there.

"It's an exciting opportunity for us and we really want Nottingham to get behind us in what should be a top-of-the-table clash.

"There should be some exciting rugby played and we want as many people to enjoy that as possible.

"We want to see as many of our fans down there as possible and we are looking into ways of helping people to get to the game to make it as easy as possible."

A last-gasp win over Bedford last weekend kept Nottingham hot on the heels of pacesetters Exeter in the new-look Championship and their game at Welford Road should provide an attractive prospect for Midlands rugby supporters.

Leicester Tigers chairman Peter Tom said: "We have an excellent working relationship with Nottingham and we are pleased to provide our help and support. We hope they can attract strong support at Welford Road."

The Nottingham v Chiefs match will kick off at 4.15pm to allow supporters to watch TV coverage of England v Australia (2.30pm) first.
