Blue Bell Hill was best in the country
It scored 105 for contextual value added (CVA) – a measure which takes account of a school's circumstances and compares it with how well its children do.
Head teacher Jo Bradley said: "We believe in allowing our children to make as much progress as they should, or are able to."
Other city schools which also appeared in the CVA top 100 include, Henry Whipple Primary School, Bestwood Estate and Blessed Robert Widmerpool Catholic Primary and Nursery School, Clifton.
St Patrick's Catholic Primary and Nursery School, in Mansfield, also appeared in the top 100.
Schools which have achieved year on year improvements among its more able pupils at level five include, Forest Fields Primary; Milford Primary, Clifton; Northgate Primary, New Basford and Seely Junior School, Sherwood.

“CVA will not enhance a child's academic ability to get a good job. In my view, its the Sats which should be important not the value it as to offer these kids. Lets see the Sats in January first to judge if some of these children will be potential solicitors & doctors rather than manual low paid workers. Put the children first through quality education instead of political CVA scores to hype schools like Blue Bell Hill. I know because my child went there, transered her to a school with good sats and she shines academically.”
