The National Ice Skating Association has selected Nottingham's Jamie Whiteman and Joe Buckland, and his ice-dance partner Olivia Smart from Sheffield, along with German-born Amani Fancy, 15.

Two-time GB Junior Champions Smart, 15, and Buckland, 20, won gold last year at the Mentor Nestle Nesquik Cup in Poland.

Whiteman, 17, who competed at the 2011 Youth Olympic Winter Festival, in the Czech Republic, has recently come back from injury.

Despite months off the ice recovering, he was second in the Mentor Nestle Nesquick Cup in Poland in January.

Hilary Selby, Performance Director for NISA, said: "The World Junior Figure Skating Championships is considered the most prestigious international competition for juniors and will be an important benchmark for of youngsters.

"We have some incredibly talented skaters in the squad and this will be a great platform for them to showcase their skills and gain valuable major event experience."

Skaters aged 13-21 from 41 countries, including China, Russia and the USA, will be in action at the event.

Tom Saxton-Howes, who skates at Nottingham's National Ice Centre, is celebrating after winning the S3 (S) Singles Silver Men's title at the British Adult Championships at IceSheffield.

Almost 200 adult skaters from across the UK – aged from 21 to over 75 – competed for titles in singles, solo, couples, pairs, artistic and exhibition categories.
