Nottingham lines up development deals at MIPIM
DEALS covering the disposals of a series of prominent Nottingham buildings look set to be announced within weeks after the city mounted a major marketing push in Cannes.
Nottingham City Council is selling the buildings, which include the landmark Guildhall, following its decision to bring all key departments under one roof at Loxley House – the office complex on Station Street vacated by Capital One.

They were among the development projects being promoted by Team Nottingham, the public-private partnership selling the city to national and international investors this week at the international property fair on the French Riviera.
Speaking as the event drew to a close, city council leader Jon Collins said there had been "significant interest" in both the council property portfolio and the Southside business district around Nottingham Midland Station.
It is thought some buildings will see a change of use while others may be demolished and the sites redeveloped.
"I think there will be one or two announcements we will be able to make during the coming weeks," Coun Collins told the Post from Cannes.
He said there had been interest from local and national developers in the city's property portfolio, which takes in a range of buildings, and the Southside district.
"What people are looking for more than anything else is certainty about sites," he said. "When you go around the exhibition hall people are promoting plans and ideas. What we have been able to say is that we've got everything ready to go – we have got cash for the extension of the tram and agreement on how it will be supported, so you can pretty much take it as read that it's going to happen.
"The improvements around the railway station are starting and people will really notice it from the autumn.
"A number of developers are looking to move projects on around the station and we know how we can attract people in to discuss pre-lets."
This is the first time Coun Collins has been to the event. He cycled down to Cannes to raise money for charity and has paid his own air fare home.
The council has been mulling over whether it can still afford to put money into the Team Nottingham MIPIM – Market for International Property Trade – presence in the future because of cash constraints.
But Coun Collins said the decision was still up for debate.
"Having seen it, I can understand why the private sector is so enthusiastic about it and I can understand why it's something we are involved in.
"We'll have to look at what money we get from government and see where our budget is at. But I am pretty convinced that what we do here offers good value for money.
"There are some huge stands in the main hall but they all blur into a run of artist's impressions of proposed developments in one city after another when you walk round.
"We are outside in a boat with a branded message which I think is far better because we are able to make sure the people we bring on board are people who can actually do business with us.
"Everybody involved in property development is here and meetings which would take time to organise in the UK are easy here because you can find people and just talk to them."
He added: "The big cities in the UK are here, the big cities in Europe are here, even cities around the world."
