HOLIDAYMAKERS from Nottingham spend an average of £3,000 on a two week family break, according to a study.

Holiday Extras.com conducted a nationwide poll of 1,000 people, in which 40% of city residents claimed their average spend per person, per day, on holiday is up to £50.

That is equal to up to £2,800 for a family of four on a two week break.

"Many people may have already put money aside for their summer getaway; for those that haven't, however, there is a good case for re-examining their spending plans, or they could get burnt", warns Mike Whiting, managing editor of Holiday Extras.

He added that searching for good deals within your budget means a good holiday should still be affordable.

The research also showed that 29% of people in Nottingham planned to spend up to £20 each per day, equivalent to a £1,120 budget.

Meanwhile, a further six per cent will be spending up to £100 per day.
