Nottingham dubbed 'Hottingham' as survey erotic novels more likely to be read in city
Nottingham has topped a survey of UK cities based on sales by a publisher of erotic novels.
The news - which has led to the city being dubbed 'Hottingham' - comes as the Nottingham Post launches its Valentine's Day 'Love is in the Chair' campaign. Riah Matthews explains...
-

Chair tomorrow: Radio DJs Dino, centre, and Pete from Capital FM's Dino and Pete, with the Post's "runaway bride", Siobhan Gillespie.
FOR some, love is in the air, everywhere they look around. Others wonder who wrote the book of love.
Still others can't help fallin' in love with you. And here in Nottingham, there are always those romantic souls who want you to know that everything they do, they do it for you.

(You know it's true.)
But whether you're holed up in the Love Shack or with a Long-haired Lover from Lady Bay, on the week that the city was dubbed the country's Valentine's Day Sexiest City, we're on a mission to make Nottingham – sorry, Hotingham – all loved-up...with the help of Capital FM duo Dino and Pete.
We're putting the pair in the chair, which is less sinister than it sounds.
Listen to The Nottingham Post being mentioned on Capital FM this morning
The breakfast show DJs will be taking part in the Nottingham Post's "Love is in the chair" campaign tomorrow – and we want romantic couples to join them.
The chair in question – a luxurious red, velvet chaise longue – will be installed in the newly-opened Red Hot World Buffet restaurant in the Cornerhouse in the city centre, and a photographer will be on hand to take photos of happy partners.
Tomorrow from 5pm Dino and Pete will also be there to pose with couples – or singletons.
Dino, aka Dean Weatherbed, said: "They can come and have their picture taken with us if they like."
Pete Allen added: "It's showing people what they could end up with if they don't try hard this Valentine's Day."
They will be joined by our very own "runaway bride", Siobhan Gillespie, who's been running around the city in a wedding dress to promote the Post's Win A Wedding competition.
She'll be in the entrance of the restaurant to guide people during their time on the chair.
DJ Dino is also available to give any love advice.
"I would say 'find someone who makes you laugh'," said Dino, who's been with partner Tracy for nearly four years.
Whereas Pete might be able to offer some words of encouragement for singletons.
He says: "My current relationship status is single. I'm not doing anything this Valentine's Day... I'll probably be drinking beer."
You can have your photo taken in the Post's Love Chair at Red Hot World Buffet in the Cornerhouse tomorrow from 5pm to 8pm or Saturday from 11.30pm to 2.30pm.
We'll print some of the photos in a special Post supplement on Valentine's Day, accompanied by romantic messages. A winner will be chosen, who will get to take their beloved for a free meal at Red Hot World Buffet.
Photos will also be online and can be bought at www.thisisphotosales.co.uk/nottingham. So whether you're a full-time Valentine or still seeking that special someone, be sure to stop by the restaurant and find out why over here at the Post, we believe that love is in the chair.

“At least it is a chance to get rid of the old Potingham tag which has blighted this city for the past few years – after the survey which showed we bought more potties than any other city.”
