Nottingham has most bus travellers in region

MORE than ten per cent of Nottingham residents travel to work by bus – higher than any other city in the region.

According to 2011 Census data, which has been analysed by the Office for National Statistics, 24,171 of the 232,072 people living in the city use the bus to go to work.

A total of 26 per cent (60,309) travelled in by car or van, while 8.2 per cent (19,017) went on foot, 1.8 per cent (4,232) cycled, and 1.1 per cent (2,484) hopped on the tram.

In Notts, out of 578,254 people, 4.4 per cent took the bus, 44.6 per cent went by car or van, 5.5 per cent walked and 1.7 per cent cycled.
