Nottingham Rugby set to join Notts County PLC as part of historic link up
NOTTINGHAM Rugby is set to become part of Notts County Football Club PLC.
The Green and Whites chairman, Alistair Bow, and Ray Trew, the owner and chairman of Magpies were today due to sign a heads of terms agreement that Notts County PLC were putting an offer in to take control of Nottingham Rugby.
"The board is proposing to our shareholders that the deal goes through," said Bow. "Subject to contract and shareholder approval we will then become part of the PLC."
Nottingham Rugby will still trade as a separate company but will become part of the NCFC PLC portfolio.
A delighted Bow said: "I will still be chairman of Nottingham Rugby. I'll join the PLC board and Glenn Delaney will continue as director of rugby."
The rugby club already have a seven year deal in place to play at Meadow Lane.
Notts County chairman Ray Trew said: "When the notion of buying Nottingham Rugby was first suggested to me I was immediately interested because I can see the massive potential of the club, especially when coupled with Notts County FC.
"With both teams playing at Meadow Lane it has always made sense for us to work as closely as possible.
"And I see purchasing the rugby club as the natural progression of this partnership.
"My aim is to embrace fans of both clubs and to encourage support across both sports, as we look to build a successful partnership that will be the pride of Nottingham."

“Two very simple questions for you.
1 If Ray Trew wanted the rugby club out, would it just have been easier for him just to not renew the contract to play at Meadow Lane? That way, as we speak, the rugby club would have nothing further to do with Notts County.
2 Can you not see the success of the rugby club is I now intrinsically linked to the fortunes of County? It is in your interests that they do well.
If you can¿t see the answer to these 2 questions, you are simply beyond help.”

“That is rich coming from the man who was taken in hook line and sinker by the Munto muppets and Trembling. It was pitiful to watch as you believed to the last that 25-50million was about to be pumped into the club.
As mentioned, Ray Trew appears to have integrity something you are sadly lacking in. We shall see, but you have been wrong at every turn so far and it is amusing.
Ask yourself why you are the only saddo posting on here who has an issue with the rugby club? Just try and grow up and stop embarrassing yourself”

“Beak you fool you will be telling me next that every time Gordon Brown opened his mouth he was telling the truth. this can be said of most of our M.P's. The same can be said of most businees men. They only say in most cases what plonkers like you want to hear, which quite often is not the truth.”

When you are intellectually challenged it is best just to keep quiet.”

“But here is the difference. You are, weirdly, desperate for NRFC to go bust and Ray Trew wants them to be successful
You are ignorant fool and he is a successful businessman.”
