Nottingham Rugby players strip for charity
IN the face of financial difficulties, going naked may not be the first thing that springs to mind, but players from Nottingham Rugby have stripped off for a fundraising calendar.
In the official Nottingham Rugby Uncovered Calendar 2009, the players hope their tackles and teamwork can be as effective on the pitch as off it – though rugby balls have been strategically positioned.
The calendar is on sale on Sunday at £7.99, when Nottingham entertain Manchester in National Division One at Meadow Lane. Kick-off is 6pm.
Dan Montagu, No.8, said: "We had a few requests from female fans to get naked and raise funds for the club, so we decided that a calendar would be the best idea."
Tickets for the game are available on the day at £16 adults, £10 concession and £4 children.

“I'm reading this on Monday at 11.15 am. If I look at the little 'Top Sport' headlines box on the right - Forest (scraped a one-nil and no longer bottom- good). Panthers, NottsCo. No mention of a superb 57-8 victory by Nottingham Rugby. Come on Evening Post. If you really want to get behind the team, at least feature them. Miles clear in third place in the table and chasing Exeter for second. If Forest were doing half as well they would be all over the paper. Oh, they are.”
