Daniel Ayala is ready to return to the Nottingham Forest squad ahead of the visit of Burnley.

Defender Ayala, on loan from Norwich, missed the 2-1 home defeat to Hull last weekend due to illness.

Sean O'Driscoll's side came through that game without any new injury problems.

Defender Greg Halford (calf), midfielders Radoslaw Majewski (ankle) and Jermaine Jenas (calf) and striker Simon Cox (foot) were all absent against the Tigers and will remain on the sidelines for Saturday's match.

As well as Ayala, Reds boss O'Driscoll has defender Brendan Moloney, midfielders Guy Moussi, Henri Lansbury and Lewis McGugan and strikers Robbie Findley and Dexter Blackstock available should he wish to make any changes to his starting line up.

Burnley will be without defender Ben Mee.

Former Manchester City youth captain Mee completed 90 minutes in Sunday's 1-1 draw with fierce rivals Blackburn at Turf Moor but sustained medial knee ligament damage during the match and is now facing several weeks on the sidelines.

Danny Lafferty and Joseph Mills will contest the vacancy in Sean Dyche's starting XI, with Northern Ireland international Lafferty favourite to get the nod.

Elsewhere Dyche has no other injury or suspension worries as the Clarets look to extend their unbeaten run to four matches.

Wales international striker Sam Vokes came off the bench to seal a point against Rovers but may well have to settle for a place among the substitutes once more.

“In my opinion the best line up would be:
    Rice
    Rice Rice Rice
    Rice
    Rice Rice Rice Rice
    Rice

Not sure who i'd have on the bench tho, suggestions?”

“I think the 3-5-2 is an interesting idea, I recall it was our 'plan B' earlier on and worked well to rescue the game vs Birmingham but then when we started with it vs Palace it didn't work and hasn't been tried again since. In my opinion, based on where Palace our now, maybe its worth another try- especially seeing as we seem strong at CB but weak down the sides,
3/4 from Collins, Ayala, Ward, Halford (or even Lascelles)
    Gillett & Cohen holding
    Coppinger and Reid wide
    Guediora/Lansbury attacking mid
    Blackstock & Sharp up front
It would mean that we were strong with balls into our box, had width to provide balls in for Blackstock's head and still had creativity in midfield to thread balls through for Sharp,
    Thoughts?”

“I am certain we have missed Greg Halford - IMO a fine full-back, and even better Centre Back - yet he claims he prefers midfield ! He doesn't get ruffled - and seems to have more time on the ball than Ward, Ayala or Collins. For me, Ward should be heading back to Norwich as soon as his loan expires - Lascalles (if fit) is a good enough deputy for centre half. I still don't know why we're paying good money for Hutton - not that much better than Moloney to me.”

“This is great news - thanks to Ward for filling in, but he is not quite the player we need to play football from the back. He does not look comfortable playing to feet and only looked happy when he was lumping it up front or continually passing it back to Camp!!”

“yes you are correct Njwforest they seem to be our best partnership at the back if only we had hutchingson fit and playing to cos we was really strong at the back then, its time for our back four to stand up and be counted now, a team should be built from the back upwards, ive noticed campy is starting to lose his faith in the defenders in front of him he dosent seem as confident again as he was starting to show what he is made of again, we need to start coming out of the blocks quicker and try to attack quicker its all good keeping the ball but its time to get more clinical and start doing somthing with it, we are missing width so much in this team i wonder if we will get a winger in january i know we are interested in the young irish lad stephen mcglouclin frfom derry but he not proven at this level if he comes but we will have to see on him, i fancy a player like Aaron Lennon style he ticks the boxes for me so somebody who has that sort of game to him and then a really fast pacey up and down the wing type of player to and you would see a total change again to this team, we have lots of creative midfielders but the problem is they all to central and we to direct and its easy for teams to stop us playing because we dont have no width so we cant mix it up as much in games as we like i think lansburry could do the job but he needs to be given the chance and time to play that role, c.o.y.r.”

“Sean, one player up front at home amounts to waving the white flag and showing that you are frightened of the opposition. If we had played with two strikers and lost to a better side, the response to your tactics would have received far less criticism. It's much easier for the opposition to close down one striker than two. Just because a good defender is missing does not mean we need less strikers. Anyway I thought you have loaned two replacement defenders; you obviously don't think too much of them.

Anyway Sean don't be shocked with criticism, when fans with families are paying nearly £30 to see their team. It is a lot of money and perhaps you don't realise the hardships that some of them have to contend with to support the Reds, especially with Christmas coming up. I think that the fans have the right to complain.

It's Burnley this weekend, and they are not the side that they were a couple or so years ago. Be positive and go for a cricket score. You has got the players to do it, provided the team is played to win.”

“Agreed greg, I thought he was one of our 2 or 3 best players consistently when we went on our best spell against Cardiff & co. He and collins are a quality pairing, can't say we've had the same strength of partnership with Collins and ward”

“lets hope you can stay fit now because once you settle back into the team again i think we will be a lot more solid at the back i like alaya i think he is a good center back he took a few games to settle but once he did we could start to see what he had up his sleave, so please earn your place back and keep it m8, its time the team started to earn there place in the starting line up be proud be forest to you die”
