Nottingham Forest's David McGoldrick joins Ipswich on loan
DAVID McGoldrick has joined Ipswich Town on loan, with a view to securing a permanent move.
The Nottingham Forest striker had only just returned from a loan spell at Coventry.
But, having scored 17 goals with the League One club in the first half of the season, he has clearly impressed enough to earn another chance at Championship level.
Now McGoldrick will join up with former Forest captain Luke Chambers at Portman Road.
Town boss Mick McCarthy has initially signed McGoldrick on loan, but the club have hinted that they are keen on making the move permanent.
New Forest boss Alex McLeish yesterday admitted he had to make a decision over the future of the striker this month.
But he has clearly made his choice quickly, following immediate interest from their Championship rivals.
Forest are likely to demand a small fee for the striker, if he does make the move permanent, despite the fact that his contract is due to expire in the summer.
