NOTTINGHAM Forest will win promotion to the Premier League this season – according to the writers monitoring the progress of their Championship rivals.

Four of the men covering the top seven sides in the table believe the Reds will not only secure a top-six finish – but also triumph at Wembley.

  1. Billy Davies

A survey of the reporters covering the Championship's promotion rivals has revealed Billy Davies' side are now regarded as the favourites to seal a place in the top flight via the play-offs.

A run of six consecutive wins heading into the international break lifted Forest to fifth in the table.

The momentum built under the returning manager has revived the fortunes of a season that had looked to be dead and buried following the sacking of Sean O'Driscoll and the short tenure of Alex McLeish.

When Forest return to action with the visit of Brighton on March 30, they will be looking to equal a club record of seven consecutive wins.

And that remarkable run of form has attracted the attention of their promotion rivals, who are now looking over their shoulders at Davies' side.

Forest do face a tough run in, with games against promotion-chasing Brighton, Cardiff, Middlesbrough and Leicester – in a potentially crucial final day clash – still to come.

While they also face Barnsley, Blackpool and Millwall, who need points to avoid getting sucked into the relegation fray.

But, if they can extend their unbeaten seven-match run under Davies, they could yet secure their third top-six finish under the Scotsman.

“It is obvious some of you posters do not get to any away matches, if you did you would see we are all as one unit, no arguing, just thousands of us sticking together cheering the famous team to victory. Promise me to try it, you will be changed persons, no more bickering, just one aim, to see the reds in the premier league next season!”

“BuddyBonny me old mucker - there's no fooling you eh? LoL! Was it my M15sterT comments that gave me away?

After my suspension on the boards last time, whilst pretending to love McClaren (I really did feel sorry for the bloke at the end though - both MA and ND conspired to make him a broken man) and also bring the fight to our previous Board...I did try hard to hold Billy's corner, but it was like treading water. Never in my wildest dreams did I think that the King would return!

I am glad he has come back. If now all the fans can come together, that would be the penultimate dream...the ultimate dream being Premier League football.

Jeez, I would even welcome M15sterT with open arms if we got promoted and buy him a drink! No, I REALLY would! We're all in it together. Let's hold firm and get behind the team, manager and owners - if that happens, then it can only go one way...whether this season or next season.

    “Brinders

Why was Frank Clark sacked? Pemberton? Marshall? Nicholson? Arthur? Birt? Perhaps they all failed medicals.

While most people were shocked at Clark getting sacked, Fawaz has since apologised and told him he is welcome at the club anytime.

Pembo, I admit, was not givin enough time this time around.

As for the others.......Now think man, go on think.

What had they really done for the club. They may be nice people, I do not care.

What I do know is that Arthur was CEO during our worst time in our history. He managed to get the club charged by the Welsh FA for his Pratley/Whittingham comments. I could go on about Arthur, but it would be far easier for you to list the good things that he had done for the club.......the list would be much shorter.

Ask yourself what has the acadamy produced recently? Then compare it to what they used to produce.

I will not go into the rumours of missing money.

As far as I am concerned, the majority of the old regime failed to deliver enough to justify their positions.

However, why should we worry about the old guard. Look to the future.

As far as most, true fans, are concerned......

THE FUTURE IS BRIGHT IN RED & WHITE.”

Not doubt you'll find reason to moan about this also!”

    “KINGBILLY........

Are you the "Ex" Maclaren Fan ??? If it is you, Welcome Back...!

On the subject of "Why doesnt Billy talk to the press"...There is an excellent article [probably the best ive ever read] on the "We only sing when were winning" webpage.
If you havnt read it, i suggest you do because it sort of suggest the main reason Billy doesnt talk to the local press [apart from Nat Jackson] is because the last time Billy was here he thought maybe they had a lot to do with part of his downfall allegedly.
Now, i think Billy has really learned from his last time and probably doesnt want to make the same mistakes again.! Logical isnt it?.
But im sure he will come around in the end...but read the article and your insight will be clearer im sure....”

“Figaro1 - grow up man and act your age! You keep telling us how old you are and how long you have supported Forest: surely the sacking of Pembo and Marshall is not the worst thing that has happened to our team (and YOUR team) in the time you have supported Forest.

Either support the Club or show your support down the other end of the A52 where an additional fan will be more than welcome to add to their low attendances this season.

Sorry to sound so harsh, but as a number of fans have said, things are so positive now for the first time in nearly 2 years, so please stop spoiling it with your negativity. We have a few games left until 'possible' promotion to the Premier League and we should all be enjoying it together as Forest fans.

Brindersgod is as bad (probably worse, given his support of both Sean O'Driscoll and Bristol City when was appointed as manager there...along with RedSong) and his continued dissing of Billy (it's not even subtle as Derkaiser suggests, so I assume Derkaiser was being diplomatic) serves only to give this forum a negative vibe and is contributing to/causing arguments amongst ourselves.

There are some posters like MI5sterT who are always going to come out with vitriolic abuse against Billy Davies no matter what he does...even if he gets us promoted to the Premier League! I don't want to tar you both with that brush, as he is clearly mad!

Derkaiser's post today is the best I have read under this headline and he states the most important message: Aren't we all - all of us - Forest supporters?

If you and Figaro1 choose to draw the line and accept that all Forest fans have had different opinions about who the best manager for our Club is, then let's draw a line now and stop the negativity. If you both choose not to and subsequently get castigated for trolling against Billy and our Club in future, you'll both get harsh comments from me too! Your choice.

I suggest you both draw a line - let's all enjoy the promotion chasing together under the best manager we have had since Brian Clough..or at least since we last got relegated from the Premier League, if you prefer.

You both have come out with some good points in the past, so let's hear some more of those, but please..no more anti-Billy or anti-Fawaz posts! (whether subtle or not)”

“Pavared would, for once, actually have a point about Figaro whinging had his points - questions raised by many genuine Forest fans - been answered by the club. Why was Frank Clark sacked? Pemberton? Marshall? Nicholson? Arthur? Birt? Perhaps they all failed medicals.
Why doesn't the manager speak to Radio Nottingham, whose coverage of all things Forest is Premier League quality?

Imagine the furore should Billy be sacked and be banished out of Forest's madcap world, never to be mentioned again!”

“figaro: whinge, whinge, Pemberton this, Academy that, moan, moan, moan - change the record it's beyond boring!

Oh, and as for your comment about Billy D not speaking to the local radio station - why are you getting all sensitive about this and throwing your toys out of your pram? Why should he?

Billy is letting the team and results do all the talking, and if he did speak no doubt he would have serial abusers and doubters like yourself criticising him!”

    “figaro1:

I'd take the troll quotient out of your figures. I would also take the relative absence of posts as pointing to the fact that - at last - some people around Forest are doing something right.

If I'd bought Forest, after due diligence (oh yeah?) I also would have shook the place up from top to bottom, after having taken it tightly by the scruff of the neck. No problem for me there; I can live with that.

What I foind difficult to take was seeing Forest floundering hopelessly, burdened by an over-sized, under-performing dead weight called its 'background staff' and we all know which characters we're talking about.

The Al-Hasawis have thrown out the bathwater but - in a nick of time, I must admit - managed to save the baby.

Nigel Doughty had a bunch of useless losers on his side (the man hadn't got a clue how to run a football club, all due respect - the fact that he kept Mark Arthur on for 10 years too long is 1000% evidence of that!!!!!!)and didn't know what he was doing. The Al-H's are having none of that and cut straight to the chase. I admire that, take it or leave it.

If some of you won the lottery you'd tear up the ticket and go beg on the pavement - it's as far as some of you can see. I am sure of this!

    Peace.”
