A WIND turbine will be built at the Sutton Bonnington campus of the University of Nottingham.

Planning permission for the 15-metre high turbine was granted by Rushcliffe Borough Council last week.

The turbine will have blades that are almost three metres long, and will be used for research into blade technology.

It will be on an area of farmland at the campus.

The energy generated by the turbine will be used to supply some of the campus's power.
