New computer suite and wind turbine planned for BGS
KEYWORTH: Plans to build a new computer site, plant building and erect a 15m wind turbine at the British Geological Survey have been approved by Rushcliffe Borough Council.
The wind turbine will replace the 12m turbine at the site.
The Natural Environment Research Council, which submitted the application, says the new computer suite will be an "exemplary green facility" with high energy efficiency.
Plans to extend the geological sample core store at the site have been referred to the Government Office for the East Midlands due to the size of the development in the green belt.
