New sergeant tackling issues with teams

A NEW sergeant has taken over police teams in Alfreton, South Normanton, Somercotes and surrounding areas.

Sergeant Stacey Hamlett, a police officer for more than 12 years, started his career in Swadlincote but has been based in Amber Valley since 2007.

He now leads the Safer Neighbourhood teams in Alfreton, Somercotes, Riddings, South Normanton, Pinxton, Crich, Whatstandwell, South Wingfield, Dethick, and Pentrich.

Sgt Hamlett said: "During the past few weeks I've been busy getting to know the communities which my teams serve and finding out about local issues.
