Bosses say the facility, opposite Bulwell Hall Park, will create more than 60 jobs for staff including housekeeping workers and healthcare assistants.
The care home is the first of several homes to be opened by Avery Healthcare this year.
Qualified mental health nurse Joy Taft, who has more than 25 years' experience in the care sector, will lead the home's management team.
She said: "This is going to be the most modern and luxurious home in the Nottingham area.
"Avery homes always tries to achieve an 'excellent' rating from government inspectors and that will be one of our first aims."

“What the Evening Post fails to report is; nearby was a Council administered Home for the Elderly.
Due to Labour misusing public money, they stated, insufficient funds to modernise that Home.
Labour was advised, moving those residents would result in deaths.
Bulwell's councillors refused to represent, residents were evicted, and four residents passed away.”
