COREY Neilson flew home to Canada today, looking forward to his annual training camp and still busy finalising Nottingham Panthers' last import signing.

But the player-coach – who has an impressive-looking roster already signed up – insists there is no rush for his last import defenceman.

Neilson said: "There are a few names in the pipeline but, with signing Jonathan Zion (from Sheffield) it means we now don't need someone who can feature on the power-play.

"We still need the right balance of course so we are targeting a strong, defensive guy.

"We are in no hurry but if the perfect one came along tomorrow, I'll take him."

Nottingham juniors Calum Bowley, Tom Soar, Will Weldon and Josh Ward will be there for the duration of Neilson's camp in Orangeville.

They will be joined by Panthers' young brigade Steve Lee, Rob Lachowicz and Tom Norton, plus Braehead Clan newcomers Sam Bullas (ex-Nottingham) and Matt Haywood (ex-Sheffield Scimitars).

Jade Galbraith – last season's leading play-maker in the Elite League – is also attending ahead of his third season with the club.
