A BRUCE Springsteen fan who repeatedly played Born in the USA at high volume has breached his asbo 13 times.

Magistrates were told John Norman, 61, would leave Springsteen's hit blaring on a constant loop on his CD player until the early hours.

Neighbours Robert Papp-Burnett, 54, and Patricia Bartrup-Jones, 63, also accused him of hacking down plants in their garden in Berry Hill, Mansfield.

Magistrates imposed an asbo last May after studying claims of 112 separate incidents.

It banned him from acting in a manner likely to cause nuisance, harassment or alarm to the couple and harassing them either verbally or physically.

Magistrates yesterday gave Norman a 12-month community order with a supervision requirement and ordered him to pay £250 costs.

Afterwards Mr Papp-Burnett said: "He seemed to have only a limited selection of loud rock music and he would play football matches very loudly on the TV. We just about put up with that but it was the name-calling of my partner that was the last straw."

Norman refused to comment.

“We see another prime example of the failure of ASBO's, and the disregard in which people hold them, 13 breaches and nothing is done; no wonder the criminals laugh at them.

When are Government going to wake up and realise that their continual knee jerk reactions, more for PR purposes, are nothing but expensive disasterous failures.”

“Why have you removed my comment when you leave absolutely dreadful comments on here?
I said 'Leave Bruce alone, after all, he is the boss!'
Couldn't be old 'Never crack a smile' Bill who had it removed, could it?”

“Oh dear Destroyer, you deprived them of their human rights and civil liberties to play loud music endlessly. Watch out for the knock on the door and the long jail sentence you criminal. They might even bring back hanging just for you. Of course you could always get Cherry B to defend you and add to their fortune.
Sorry it is my cynical streak that keeps surfacing.”
