NSL sides meet in Cup clash

TWO of the Precision Training NSL's leading sides clash in the quarter finals of the Notts FA Intermediate Cup this afternoon as Awsworth Villa host second-placed Bulwell, managed by Terry Witts and Steve Osbourne.

Villa were victorious by the odd goal in five in the early-season league meeting between the sides and both teams are in good form going into the game.

The Bulls have former Awsworth player Jake Keetley in their squad.

Awsworth: Watson, Hodgkinson, Holmes, Headley, Hayes, Horton, Hallam, Newell, Towle, Henson, Wilkinson, Saxton, Hughes, Thompson, Chambers, Domachowski.

Bulwell: Wheat, Ward, Murdock, Knight, Soar, Keetley, Moore, King, Horder, Manders, C Carter, Jeffries, McCaffrey, Gretton, J Carter, Staples, Spencer, Walker, Martin.

Sandhurst face local rivals Old Elizabethans of the MAA in another cup tie.

Bob Crawford is without Barker and Chapman.

Sandhurst: Griffiths, Summers, Sellars, Abbott, Oates, Tye, Clarke, Cameron, Munson, Sherratt, Beavis, Hall, Bradford, Wardwick-Atkins.

Also flying the NSL flag in the same cup are Division Two side West Bridgford who are going well in their first flirtation with senior football.

Bridgford host Dunkirk Reserves of the CML at Regatta Way.

Wollaton go to unbeaten leaders FC Cavaliers with new signings Jack and Sam Smith in Ian Lowe's squad.

Allen and McKeever return to ensure Wollaton are at full strength.

Wollaton: Simpson, Thomas, Bradley, D Smith, Whyman, Buck, Middleton, Page, Vipond, Carlton, Litchfield, Whatmore, S Smith, J Smith, Mckeever, Allen.

Selston host Linby at Parish Hall in the league with the meeting between the sides the first one since the Notts FA Intermediate Cup semi-final of three years ago.

Linby won that game 2-1 with goals from Kyle McDermott and Pete Campbell.

However Simon Martin is the only player from that team still with the club.

Attenborough play Hucknall Rolls Leisure at University Park.

Several Boro players were injured last week, but manager Andy Benner is hoping they will have recovered.

In Division One, Bilborough Town could go top with a win at Clifton Reserves.

Radcliffe Reserves and Boots clash at Wharf Lane. The Chemists are hoping to have Micky Lucas, Andy Gould and Joe Mulligan back.

Second Division leaders Calverton MW Academy are without Stef Whitely through suspension.
