Musters edge to win at Mapperley Park

Tennis: Musters won a close match at Mapperley Park in Division One of the Men's Winter League.

Rob Cree and Barry Hayes-Gill took 20 games. The top couple were Duncan Burd and Seb Harwood (Mapperley Park), who won 25 games.

Magdala started their season with a convincing home win against Lady Bay.

Peter Kirton and Chris Mills won 24 games, which was matched by Mike Bottomley and Richard Ockleford.

West Bridgford started their season with a comfortable home win against Woodthorpe, the veteran pairing of Gerry Radford and Andy Wood taking 25 games.

West Bridgford went on to beat Musters where the father and son duo of Peter and Matt Whitehead won 23 games. This was matched by Ross Savage and Josh Parmenter.

Farnsfield opened their Division Two campaign with a good away win at Wollaton.

Ashley Norwood and Jack Roffe were the dominant couple with 31 games.

The Park continued their good start with a comfortable home win against Keyworth 'A'.

Abdul Hassan and Alex Harrison were the star couple winning 35 games for the loss of only one.

Attenborough opened with a good away win at Burton Joyce 'A', where Chris Lacey and Simon Kaizik were the top couple with 26 games.

Retford started off in 5B by crushing an unlucky Newark.

John Gazeley and Tom Bradley were the top couple with 35 games, backed up by Tom Hannah and Sam Hughes with 29.

Lady Bay 'A' also started well with a home win against Mapperley Park 'B'. James Chester and Ben Towle were the top couple with 30 games.

Attenborough were hoping to build on their win over Bingham 'A', in 6B. But they found Eastwood a different proposition, mainly due to the dominance of Eastwood's second pair, Nick Drewitt and Tim Pykett, who won an impressive 34 games.

Div 2: Wollaton 45 Farnsfield 63.

Div 4A: Burton Joyce 'A' 41 Attenborough 67; The Park 74 Keyworth 'A' 34.

Div 5A: Southwell 49 Lady bay 'B' 59; Lady Bay 'B' 45 Woodthorpe 'B' 63.
