Murder trial set for Monday
THE retrial of two men charged in connection with the death of Brendon Lawrence seven years ago will start on Monday.
The case, at Nottingham Crown Court, is expected to last three to four weeks.
In February, jurors found Jason Williams, 35, of Oxton Avenue, Sherwood, not guilty of shooting dead the 16-year-old in Watkin Street, St Ann's.
But they failed to reach verdicts on a charge of murder against Rene Sarpong, 28, of Lamartine Street, St Ann's, and a charge against Gary Brown, 44, of Hunloke Road, Chesterfield, of assisting an offender by disposing of a gun.
