NOTTINGHAM Forest midfielder Guy Moussi could be set for a dramatic return to action before the end of the month.

The Frenchman, 24, is expected to be back in full training today, and despite being short of match fitness could be in contention for the first team in a matter of weeks.

It is a rapid return for Moussi, who had been expected to be out until April after breaking his ankle and seriously damaging ligaments in the home defeat to Crystal Palace in early October.

But after visiting a specialist in London yesterday afternoon, the player signed from ASC Angers has been given the green light to step up his recovery.

Manager Billy Davies said: "As long as the specialists do not come back with any problems, he is ready for full training.

"It is good news, but there is still a long way to go for him.

"He will not be match fit for a while. I would imagine it will be up to a month before he is in real contention.

"But we will try to get him some reserve team football in the near future."

Several more players could return to face Birmingham this weekend, although Davies was remaining cautious.

He said: "Nathan Tyson should be available, as long as his cut heals okay, and he has had stitches so that should not be a problem.

"We will have a look at Robert Earnshaw over the next few days – he has a chance of being involved if he comes through training.

"James Perch could be able to train again in a day or two, so he might have a chance as well."

Paul Anderson is still about three weeks away from a comeback, while Joel Lynch could return to training next week.

Davies said: "It is only really Julian Bennett who is a real long term problem – he could still be nine months.

"We do have players coming back, although I would not go as far as saying they are all in contention this weekend.

"I would still regard most of them as having some question marks over them."

“The quotes in this NEP article are all Billy. Some plonkers are still blaming MA for the lack of signings.
In my opinion we desperately need to strengthen the squad. The lack of signings is all down to Billy.
No transfers in the window down to Billy --I accept that some of the transfer failings might be down to MA.
But no loan signings --totally down to Billy. He is admitting that above. So for those of us who can read and understand the written word, the lack of loan signings is Billys decision and nothing to do with ND and MA.
Billy inherited weak squad that gives him the excuse when we lose.
As Dougie, Bulwell wrote yesterday Billy will "create the impression that the odds are constantly stacked against him and anything less than a ten-nil defeat in any given game renders him a football genius ".
    Spot on mate.
He is pathetic and if we go down look no further than Billy for the major reason.”

“Dougie, good points, but I keep saying that the sheep are right ¿ bums on seats. What's the point of empty seats? Full houses, more support, better atmosphere, good for promoting the beautiful game, fans think they're getting better value for money, AND when the time comes you can always raise prices and the faithful (exploited tw+ts??) will always pay up. Meanwhile, the sheep suck in new support and probably from areas where we are competing for fan base. Every way a winner!! Good thinking ewe sheep!!”

“Ticket man, The point is Direby have to practically give tickets away to get bums on seats whilst their fans are deluded into thinking they are bigger and better than they are, its a cheap trick played by business people. This type of offer by the way has been operational at Prat park for several seasons. Personally speaking I paid £430 for my Forest season ticket and it was not buy one get one free (BOGOF) as at Direby. Good Morning, YEW REDS!”

“Dougie, why try to manipulate the truth to suit, you use the low figure of £270 for a derby season ticket, whilst using the highest forest price, Forest lowest price is 349. You state that is why Derby get higher crowds, strange that seeing as the offer dont start to next season. Morale of the story is have local buissness/fan owner pay for the privliage.”
