MOTORISTS in the Beeston Rylands, Chilwell West and Stapleford North areas of Broxtowe are urged to be vigilant after a spate of car crime.

The warning, advising residents to keep valuables out of sight, has been issued by Broxtowe Borough Council.

Councillor David Watts, council leader, said it could take as little as 10 seconds for thieves to steal from a car.

He said: "The council offers residents a choice of 25 car parks in the borough, many of which have achieved the Park Mark safety standard or benefit from natural and CCTV surveillance. We hope residents will take advantage of the safer parking facilities."
