A MOTORING project which deters young people from crime and back into education has been honoured.

Wheelbase, based in Sneinton, was recognised at an exclusive reception held at the House of Commons today.

The event celebrated its recent success as the National Training Awards' 'winner of the year 2009' in the providing education and training Category.

The Wheelbase Motor Project is an independent charity – working closely with the Police and Notts County Council – that uses motor vehicle training and motorsport to motivate disaffected young people.
