MIC'S Delight can open his account over fences in the Whistle And Flute Barnetby Beginners' Chase at Market Rasen tomorrow.

The lightly-raced eight-year-old was unfortunate to bump into an above-average recruit in Penny Max, who already has next season's Hennessy Gold Cup on his agenda, on his first start over bigger obstacles at Exeter on New Year's Day.

Victor Dartnall's charge was reasonable over timber, having been beaten by the narrowest of margins in a Grade Three event at Sandown last March.

He then went to Perth, a long way from Dartnall's Devon base, but was defeated by the useful Blenheim Brook – but that may have come at the end of a long season.

Mic's Delight could not have done much more on his first start this season – he was only beaten a length – but his jumping will obviously sharpen up a bit.

And while he has a tendency to jump right, that should pose no problems at a track like Market Rasen.

Nicky Henderson can do no wrong at present, and it is probably worth banking on Trozulon making a winning hurdling debut in the Watch Racing UK On Sky Channel 432 Novices' Hurdle.

Winner of a French bumper, he arrived with a pretty tall reputation and began his career for Henderson in a Listed bumper at Cheltenham on New Year's Day.

Narrowly beaten by Keys and Cinders And Ashes, who have both since done wonders for the form, he obviously has an engine.

If anything, he looked a stayer in the making so this two-mile-three-furlong trip should be fine for him.

David Pipe has been making positive noises about French recruit Top Wood, and it will be fascinating to see how he gets on in the second division of the Haygain Hay Steamers – Clean Healthy Hay Novices' Hurdle at Towcester.

He has racked up a hat-trick of wins in the provinces and really could be anything.

Donald McCain's Red Rocco deserves to win the Clare's Birthday Novices' Hurdle.
