Met Office warns of ice on the roads across Notts and Nottingham tonight.

The Met Office has warned against ice on the roads in and around Nottingham tonight and early tomorrow morning.

The yellow warning - the least severe of the three types of Met Office warnings - is in place from 4.30pm tonight and is valid until 11.30am on Friday.

Temperatures are set to drop to -1 degrees C overnight, but forecasters have warned it will feel more like -4 degrees C.

The Met Office said: "Temperatures are expected to fall below freezing overnight across many parts of England and Wales.

"Due to the recent wet weather there is an increased risk of icy patches, even on roads that have been treated with salt, where water run off and seepage may wash off any earlier salt treatment.

"Therefore the public should be aware of the risk of ice on roads and pavements."
