Matt Green scored a hat-trick as play-off chasing Mansfield thrashed Barrow 8-1.

The hosts went ahead after eight minutes when Lee Stevenson found the top corner from 25 yards before Barrow's Danny Rowe equalised from the penalty spot in the 17th minute after he was fouled by Lee Beevers.

Stags striker Matt Green made it 2-1 from the spot six minutes later after Matt Flynn was judged to have fouled Luke Jones in the area.

Colin Daniel added number three when he fired in from 12 yards before Green fired his second two minutes later.

Adam Murray tapped in from close range in the 43rd minute to make it 5-1 going into the break.

Green then sealed his hat-trick from the spot in the 52nd minute after Barrow's Mike Pearson fouled Jones, before Stevenson scored his second from 10 yards.

Anthony Howell scored a 12-yard header in the 70th minute to complete the rout.
