Mansfield saw off bottom side AFC Telford with a 1-0 win at home.

The Stags were the first to threaten when defender Louis Briscoe rattled the bar from distance after five minutes.

The game burst into life just before the break when Colin Daniel hit the woodwork twice within seconds, first his right-footed strike bounced away off the post before his cross come shot hit the cross bar.

It was not long before Mansfield did find the back of the net when Matt Green stole the ball from Karlton Watson before finishing well when one-on-one with Ryan Young five minutes into the second half.

Mansfield were denied a second a goal when the referee judged Luke Jones to have fouled goalkeeper Ryan Young as the pair challenged for the ball.

The task got harder for Telford when Watson was given his marching orders for a late tackle on Adam Murray.
