MANSFIELD Ladies won their first match of the season to move off the bottom of Division One in the Notts LTA Ladies' Winter League.

They beat fellow strugglers, Musters, who have yet to win this season. Nicola Coleman and Emilia Lazarevic won 21 games for Mansfield, which was matched by Lesley Cree and Jane Stevens, the Musters first pair.

Lady Bay moved to the top of Division Two following consecutive wins against Magdala A and Woodthorpe. Sarah-Kate O' Grady and Sally Walker were the top couple against Woodthorpe with 27 games, backed up by Lauren Trigg and Amber Williams with 24 games.

Burton Joyce are in second place following a convincing home win against Southwell. A good all-round team performance saw Ruth Rae and Lisa Ostrowsky-Weston win 29 games, Elaine Masters and Jo Goddard win 27 games and Gill Lane and Heather Ankers with 24 games.

Collingham opened their league account with a home win against Magdala A, where Beryl Jones and Jill Beardsell, the veteran county players, were the top couple with 27 games.

Wollaton moved clear at the top of Division 5B with consecutive wins against Newark A and Eastwood. Tamsin Mason and Anne Lowe were the top couple against Newark with 27 games and Tamsin Mason and Yasmin Parrott were the top couple against Eastwood with 24 games.
